FHIR-enabled platform for healthcare organizations, providing true interoperability and personalization at scale
b.well’s industry-leading platform modernizes healthcare operations with flexible, modular infrastructure that lets organizations start where they need—whether for compliance, insights, or care access. Each capability adds value to a connected ecosystem, empowering innovation and better consumer experiences without vendor lock-in.
Our health system, health plan, employer and pharmacy customers are improving:
Data Interoperability: The platform delivers one of the industry’s only open, secure data models, and is fully interoperable. It leverages FHIR-based APIs to consolidate a 360-degree view of real-time health data from patients, medical records, labs, pharmacies, Medicare, the Veterans Administration, third-party apps and devices, and any FHIR-enabled health plan or provider. Use of industry standards means data can be easily integrated with enterprise applications such as the EHR.
Clinical Workflow: b.well automates clinical workflows and encourages patients to take next-best actions in real time when most effective. These include administrative (“save money by using a lower level of care vs. the ER for non-emergent care”); personal (“it’s time for your colorectal screening, let’s schedule an appointment”); and closing the loop (“please pick up your medications”).
Scalability: In addition to removing human touchpoints through automation, the platform reduces time spent on digital transformation from years to months, for a fraction of the cost, and is continually scalable against the fast-changing needs of a health system.
Revenue Cycle: b.well lowers costs and increases revenue through automation; maximizing value-based bonuses; and improving conversion beyond current methods, navigating people for care in-person, digitally and virtually.
Moreover, while our competitors sell off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all solutions to a problem, b.well is a true platform that allows for configurability and can evolve with customers over time based on their priorities and bottom-line concerns. For example, for a major East Coast health system whose call centers were being overwhelmed by consumer demand for COVID vaccines, b.well deployed a vaccine scheduling solution in three weeks’ time that has automated the triage and navigation of over 1 million patients without impacting the clients’ call centers or website. b.well’s leadership in consumer-led interoperability is well established.
b.well was one of the first third-party app developers to be white-listed to connect to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Blue Button API and the Veteran Administration’s Lighthouse API, and is a member of the Commonwell Alliance. It is one of the few organizations to have successfully connected with leading EHR vendors through ONC patient access APIs, proprietary APIs and SDKs, thereby becoming exquisitely familiar with technical, policy and operational considerations. No wonder then, that former White House CTO Aneesh Chopra recently nominated b.well CEO Kristen Valdes as a member of the prestigious federal General Accounting Administration’s Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC).
