Helps to regain control over the function of the bladder
The sensor is attached with a belt, a textile strap or clipped to the underwear and measures continuously the filling level of the bladder. The information is sent to the respective app on your smartphone or smart watch. The app now informs you about the current filling level and the optimal micturition time. If a critical bladder filling level is reached, you will receive a subtle alert to enable a timely, controlled micturition. This helps to prevent unplanned micturitions and unnecessary catheterizations.
Our patented sensor unit consists of LEDs which radiate into the abdominal area in the direction of the bladder in different wavelengths within the near-infrared range.
The reflections of the LEDs are detected individually by photocells and then transmitted to the receiving device. Due to the different types of tissue in the body, the light is reflected in different ways. This creates variations in the intensity and composition of the light that is registered in the photosensors. These variations can be interpreted and used to calculate the current bladder filling level as well as predict the optimal time for the next micturition and communicate it to a smartphone.
Due to energy and space saving components, our sensor can be worn continuously throughout the day without restricting your everyday life.
