      • 1. Prepare the Sensor

Clean the Skin: Wash your hands and clean the area on your skin where you will apply the sensor. Typically, this is on the back of your upper arm, but some systems may also allow for placement on the abdomen.

Open the Package: Open the sensor packaging carefully. It should include the sensor, an applicator (if applicable), and a small adhesive strip.

        2. Apply the Sensor

Attach the Sensor: Using the included applicator or the provided instructions, place the sensor onto your skin. The applicator will insert the sensor under the skin in a quick, minimal-pain process. Follow the specific instructions in the package for correct positioning.

Secure the Sensor: Once the sensor is in place, ensure that it is secure and the adhesive sticks to your skin to prevent the sensor from falling off.

        3. Set Up the App or Receiver

Download the App: If required, download the Lingo CGM app on your smartphone from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Sync the Device: Once the sensor is applied, the system will need to sync with the mobile app or a separate receiver device (if applicable). Follow the prompts in the app to complete the setup.

Activate the Sensor: After syncing, the app or receiver should activate the sensor. You might need to scan or input a code from the sensor to start it.

        4. Start Monitoring Your Glucose Levels

Scan for Data: The sensor will continuously monitor your glucose levels, and you can scan or view the readings through the mobile app or receiver at any time.

Real-Time Monitoring: The Lingo CGM system typically provides real-time data about your glucose levels, offering valuable insights into how your levels change throughout the day.

Check Trends: Use the app to see glucose trends, patterns, and averages to help you make informed decisions about your diet, exercise, and insulin usage.

        5. Set Up Alerts and Notifications

Customize Alerts: Within the app, you can set thresholds for low or high glucose levels and receive real-time notifications if your glucose levels move outside your target range. This can help with early detection of potential issues.

Trend Alerts: Some systems allow for alerts based on rapid increases or decreases in glucose levels, which can be particularly useful for avoiding sudden spikes or drops.

        6. Maintain the Sensor

Wear for Recommended Duration: Depending on the model, the sensor typically lasts for about 7-14 days. Be sure to follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for sensor replacement.

Avoid Moisture: Keep the sensor dry. While most CGM systems are water-resistant, it is best to avoid prolonged exposure to water (e.g., swimming) to ensure sensor performance.

Monitor the Adhesive: If the sensor starts to loosen or peel off, replace the adhesive patch as needed to ensure it stays securely attached.

        7. Change the Sensor (When Needed)

Remove the Old Sensor: After the sensor reaches its expiration date (typically 7 or 14 days), it needs to be removed. Gently peel it off your skin.

Dispose of the Sensor Properly: Dispose of the sensor and related materials following local medical waste guidelines.

Apply a New Sensor: Follow the same process for applying the new sensor.

        8. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with the sensor, such as inaccurate readings or device malfunctions, refer to the troubleshooting section of the Lingo CGM manual or contact customer support for assistance.
